What size Hair Bow is right for your cutie? PHOTOS TO FOLLOW

Bow Delicious offers hair bows in three main sizes: Baby, Toddler and Big Girls. However, which size you choose is entirely up to you and how you want your babe to look. We create all size bows for all ages as some mums prefer a larger bow on their baby and older girls prefer to wear the small baby size clips for sweeping bangs away from their faces.

Generally speaking, the ages and recommended bow sizes are as follows:

Baby - Birth to One Year Old - up to 2 inches - fully lined or half lined alligator clip works best

Toddler - Six Months to Two Years Old - 2 inches to 3 inches - half lined alligator or small french clip works here

Big Girls - Two Years to Ten Years Old - 3 to 5 inches - larger french clips work best on these bows

Which Clip is best to use?

We offer a selection of different style clips to securely hold bows in your little ones hair, according to preference of course..

Alligator clip - Also known as a clippie or pinch clip, these are the best choice for babies with very little hair or very thin hair. This type of clip will hold in just a small amount of hair. These are also the best choice for toddlers with fine hair.

You simply pinch to open the clip and release to close. We have found that this is the most popular clip for most mums (and Dads) to use and the added advantage is that you are not pressing on your babys head like you would with most traditional snap type clips. Simply pinch open the clip and sweep it into the hair. For ponytails, first put the hair in a ponytail with a band or elastic, then open the clip and slide it right on top of the ponytail above the band.   

Our baby sized clips come fully lined with ribbon so that no metal components are ever touching the scalp. Toddler clips come half lined to make it easier when using for ponytails. However you can have any style of bow with any style of clip. Larger bows however are best suited to the french clip as they are generally a little heavier and require the support of a french clip.

French Clips - Also called a barrette, we have 3 different sizes in french clips, small (40mm), medium (50mm), and large (60mm). Small french clips are generally for 2-3 year olds, medium for 4-6 year olds, and large for older girls. These clips work well in thicker or curly hair and for popping on top of ponytails in any type of hair.

Ponytail Elastic - We offer a few different styles including covered elastics, covered bands etc.
